About this event
Community Wealth Building (CWB) is a people-centered economic development strategy that aims to create fairer, more resilient local economies by giving communities greater control over their assets and keeping wealth circulating locally, rather than extracting it, often by leveraging anchor institutions like universities and hospitals.
This evening workshop is designed to deepen your understanding of Community Wealth Building as a transformative approach & give you the tools to imagine and begin shaping alternative economic futures for communities in the North East.
This workshop will be particularly useful for local election prospective candidates and campaign activists, as there will be a specific section on 'How to talk about Community Wealth Building on the doorstep.'
With Neil McInroy (Global Lead for Community Wealth Building, The Democracy Collaborative) and Jamie Driscoll (Former North of Tyne Mayor).
