Have you ever thought of a brilliant response just *after* you’ve finished talking to someone about politics? Do you wish you had the key facts and figures at your fingertips? Do you sometimes wonder how to respond to someone who says something that gets your hackles up, but you want to win them over rather than start a blazing row? 

Radical Listening, Radical Persuasion starts from the premise that the better you understand someone’s motivations, the more persuasive you will be. We’ll run through cues that let you see quickly where someone is coming from, so you can respond in a way that resonates. Of course some people are just trolling – we’ll work on some great responses to them too, so neutral observers will see you as the reasonable one. 

This is the first of a series of fun, participatory group training sessions led by Majority, and supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. We use quick fire role-play techniques, and then break-down an argument to see how it could have played out differently. It’s a safe place to practice in-person and social media conversations – no one is put on the spot who doesn’t want to be.
